Val di Fiemme and the Tour de Ski are by now a well-established pairing, a perfect pair within the cross-country skiing scene that counts, and here it is that for the 19th time the renowned Trentino resort is preparing to be a symbolic stage of the equally emblazoned winter event. The slopes of Lago di Tesero will come alive from January 3 to 5,with a welcome return, the Sprint trial that, in classic technique, could move and not a little the positions in the rankings. This will be followed by the 20 km Skiathlon on Saturday, Jan. 4,an ideal test bed for the new slopes that a year later will host the events of the Milan-Cortina 2026 Winter Games. Sunday, Jan. 5,there will be the legendary ascent to Alpe Cermis, an authentic symbol of Val di Fiemme. The 10-kilometer free-technique race will determine the winners and losers of the Tour de Ski, and it will be the Olimpia III slope of Cermis and its ramps that go up to almost 30 percent gradient that will decree the new masters of the Tour, as well as provide an unparalleled sporting spectacle for insiders and fans alike. The most eagerly awaited and prestigious event of the entire world cross-country skiing season is in the pipeline, and Pietro De Godenz, president of the Nordic Ski Val di Fiemme organizing committee, can only be enthusiastic about it: “Val di Fiemme remains the only location to have hosted all editions of the Tour de Ski, but more importantly, it has always offered the final of the great World Cup challenge. These will be three important days, framed in the pre-Olympic races, a remarkable test for our staff and our irreplaceable volunteers. ” The new winter season of the world's cross-country skiing elite promises to be nothing short of spectacular, and Val di Fiemme will be ready.
