Festival Borghi Dei Tesori In Calatafimi

A village of ruins and vineyards, quarries and woods, it sinks into the mysterious Elymium and runs quickly towards Garibaldi's exploits. Calatafimi Segesta was among the protagonists of the birth of the Unification of Italy, but it also hosts one of the most important archaeological sites in the Mediterranean. The village, on the other hand, lives its industrious daily life, built in the 12 th century around the Eufemio Castle, an ancient Byzantine stronghold, while the name comes from the Arabic Kalat al Fimi.it houses splendid churches and the house where Garibaldi slept, you discover the artisans, you walk through the Angimbè wood, in the Kaggera gardens, an uncontaminated Eden which houses ancient mills, the orange gardens, the ancient linen wash of the Canale district and the Arab zachies. Calatafimi won the first edition of the Borghi dei Tesori Award with the restoration project of the ancient Matrix clock. Don't miss the sunset concert in the Giubino Hermitage.
