The third edition of Acquicorto, the short film festival, is set to begin. The event is scheduled for Friday 31 July at 9.00 pm in the picturesque setting of the Palazzetto dei Nobili (Piazza S. Margherita, 2) in L’Aquila. Acquicorto was founded with the aim of creating an open forum for promotion, sharing and discussion, where short films are celebrated for their expressive power and their ability to interpret the present. The Festival is organised by Abbo Production and the Studio ’70 Cultural Association, under the artistic direction of Angelo Sateriale and Katiuscia Tomei from L’Aquila. The event is organised in collaboration with Cabiria Magazine, an Abruzzo-based trade publication, whose editor, Attilio Pietrantoni, will also oversee the presentation of the Critics’ Award. The evening’s programme will include screenings of the short films in competition, an awards ceremony and guest appearances. The awards for the third edition of Aquicorto will be: Best International Short Film, Best Italian Short Film, Best Short Film from Abruzzo, the Broken Blossom Award (for works addressing themes related to the fight against all forms of violence), the Cabiria Magazine Award (Critics’ Choice), the Anemic Cinema Award dedicated to video art, and the Audience Award. All updates will be published shortly on the Festival’s official channels. Free entry Info and contact details: aquicorto@libero. It IG: @festivalaquicorto
