The Sant\'Egidio Fair in Lanciano. Starting in the early afternoon on Monday, August 31,2026, the Sant\'Egidio Fair will take place in Lanciano\'s historic center. Piazza Plebiscito and Corso Trento e Trieste will be filled with market stalls, lights, and music. You will find a wide variety of items: from household goods, souvenirs, and local handicrafts to food—including sandwiches, sweets, candies, and more. But the most numerous stalls are the ones selling little bells! They come in all sizes and are made from various materials: ceramic, terracotta, brass, and blown glass! According to Lanciano tradition, these bells were exchanged between sweethearts or relatives as a symbol of love or friendship. Admission to the fair is completely free.
