A few days after the closing of the 2023 edition, which saw a record 600,000 visitors, the catastrophic flood that devastated Romagna began and for this reason ARTEVENTO CERVIA dedicates the 44th edition to the Emilia Romagna Region, celebrating its rebirth after the tragic events of last spring. This year, the event - in the person of Caterina Capelli, organizer and artistic director of the festival - has become the subject of a project of the Central Institute for Intangible Heritage of the Ministry of Culture, which rewards the commitment made since 1981 “to protect and safeguard the knowledge and traditional patrimonial practices of living witnesses at risk of disappearing”. A precious recognition, which came precisely in the years in which, thanks to the continuity maintained even during the pandemic, ARTEVENTO was recognized as the longest-running International Kite Festival in the world and at the same time a project destined to be enriched thanks to the extraordinary contents cultural events of the next edition. The first event expressly dedicated to kite flying as an art form, since 1981 ARTEVENTO has represented an unmissable meeting opportunity for "wind artists", new voices of an avant-garde poetic language, inclined to experiment with the effectiveness of this innovative artistic medium through the creation of real works of art. Every spring, artistic, ethnic, historical, "giant" and sporting kites dance in the wind on the Cervia beach, communicating in complete freedom in its splendid setting to convey a precious message of resilience and sustainability, in line with the green attitude of the Emilia Romagna Region where for over four decades, ARTEVENTO has been promoting the objectives of the UN Agenda 2030,including Peace, brotherhood and unity in diversity as founding values of humanity and the right of the individual. The 44th edition of the festival of wonders includes 12 days dedicated to sustainable creativity between the salt marshes, the pine forest and the sea, presenting a program full of guests, entertainment, insights and celebrations.
