The Marcialonga Running Coop is drawing ever closer to its significant silver anniversary and is preparing to celebrate its 24th edition on the first weekend of September. The event for all running enthusiasts takes place on Saturday 5 September in Moena, which will be the starting point for both race routes. Participants will be able to choose between the 21.097 km half marathon and the more challenging 26.5 km distance. Both routes wind through the picturesque landscapes surrounding Moena and Cavalese, retracing part of the route that has accompanied the famous cross-country skiing race for 50 years. These unique settings make the Marcialonga Running Coop a captivating event. But Marcialonga is not just about sport; it is also about solidarity. The event offers the opportunity to take part in a relay race in teams of three athletes, supporting, through the entry fee, one of the charities participating in the Charity Programme. The packed programme also includes the Coop Running Trophy, a challenge within the challenge dedicated to members, directors and staff of European Consumer Cooperatives, as well as the “Run Ex Alto Trophy”, the running competition organised by the National Association of Italian Parachutists – ANPd’I. The latter is reserved for competitors from the Armed Forces, Police Forces and Combatant and Military Associations recognised by the Italian Ministry of Defence or equivalent foreign bodies, who may take part in the 26.5 km race or the special military-style relay, where participants are required to carry equipment including a weighted rucksack. Marcialonga Running Coop also caters for the little ones, offering the Minirunning in Moena, a fun, non-competitive race for boys and girls up to the age of 12.See you in September, then, with the Marcialonga committee already hard at work to ensure an unmissable event, suitable for all ages and all fitness levels.
